A large percentage of the submissions we receive for Macintosh Tips & Tricks are product reviews. We’ve gotten reviews for products ranging from word processors to games to computer keyboards. In the past, I considered product reviews outside the scope of Macintosh Tips & Tricks. To date, we haven’t used a single one of these reviews.
While working on Mac Power Toolkit, however, I had a chance to work with a wide range of what I like to call “productivity tools.” These are utilities that make it faster or easier to perform tasks on your Macintosh. They increase productivity. And although it takes an awful lot to impress me, some of these products really did.
So I’ve rethought my policy regarding product coverage in Macintosh Tips & Tricks. This new department, Productivity Tools, is the result. In it, I hope to provide brief product overviews that introduce productivity software tools and point out specific product features that can help you work better on your Mac.
